QC Project Manager

Role Summary:

The QC Project Manager’s primary responsibility is to manage day-to-day operational aspects of assigned multi-client projects and effectively apply TGS’ QC methodology to enforce project standards and quality assurance procedures while meeting project deadlines.  In this role the incumbent will also assist Imaging, Sales and Marketing personnel with client meetings, technical support and other customer service aspects relating to our multi-client projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and execute project work flows and revise them as appropriate to meet changing project needs and requirements.
  • Assist project leaders in meeting project goals and deadlines.
  • Review deliverables prepared by processing before passing to clients and/or data management.
  • Facilitate regular project meetings and the communication between project personnel.
  • Contribute to project peer reviews and insure quality assurance procedures are followed on assigned projects.
  • Define quality control procedures and standards to improve quality and efficiency on multi-client projects.
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current and stored appropriately.
  • Ensure project deliverables are complete and delivered to data management.
  • Work closely with processing and R&D staff to evaluate new software, trouble-shoot problems and suggest new tools and enhancements for multi-client projects.
  • Maintain processing status and metrics for assigned projects and report status on a weekly basis through the appropriate channels.
  • Monitor time spent on each project and report it appropriately.
  • Manage assigned TGS or contract personnel.
  • Prepare and present technical presentations to clients and internal personnel.
  • Keep management current on assigned projects and alert him/her when a project has a major issue effecting quality or delivery date.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors or advanced degree in math, geophysics, geology or related degree.
  • 7 years minimum experience in 2D and 3D land and/or marine seismic data processing (time and depth) including at least 2 years’ experience as project leader or supervisor.
  • Experience with UNIX and/or Linux based software packages.
  • Enjoys working in a team environment but can work independently.
  • Strong background in geophysics and 3D seismic data processing.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and motivated to improve and maintain high quality while meeting deadlines.
  • Must be able to effectively interact with Marketing, Imaging, R&D and external clients.
  • Must be able to adequately communicate in the English language.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with advanced pre-stack processing techniques such as 3D SRME and other noise attenuation techniques.
  • Experienced in tomography and depth imaging technology.
  • Familiar with land and marine processing and acquisition techniques.
  • Motivated to produce superior quality products while adhering to project timelines.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office.
  • Strong decision making abilities as well as strong interpersonal skills.

 Seismic Data Processor

We are looking for a Seismic Data Processor to join our growing processing and imaging team.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years experience processing land and/or marine seismic data from different geological settings (ex. foothills, plains, desert, permafrost etc.).

Key Responsibilities:

Production time processing of land and marine 2D and 3D data with minimum supervision, including parameter testing and quality control.

  • Ensure projects are completed within the stipulated deadlines and according to Arcis’ standards.
  • Regularly communicate project progress to clients. Prepare project reports and presentations and participate in client meetings as may be required.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of B.Sc. or M.Sc. in geophysics, geology, physics, math or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience working on 2D and/or 3D time processing projects.
  • Experience with multicomponent, 4D data processing and depth imaging will be considered and asset.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem solving and multi-tasking skills.
