LiDAR Mapping & Analysis

LiDAR is a remote sensing technology that uses laser light to sense surface attributes. The utilization of LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) data has greatly increased in the last 10 years. Arcis has been utilizing LiDAR data to aid in the pre-planning and operation of seismic programs. Examples of how Arcis utilizes LiDAR data include:

  • Identification of existing lines, access roads, and clearings to aid in program design
  • Determine suitable locations for creek crossings
  • Estimate and minimize timber stumpage costs
  • Locate clearings suitable for staging and helipads sites.
  • Generate seismic line profiles to determine elevation changes and slope.
